Santa Cruz Tony Rice Professional, serial number D4826Rp. Excellent ++ to near mint. I've had the guitar about a year, and it has stayed inside my home in southeast Michigan -- smoke free, air conditioned, and humidity controlled.

Calton custom case designed for SC dreadnaught size guitars, charcoal gray with vintage green interior. (Santa Cruz D dimensions are slightly smaller than Martin, so do not fit perfectly in a standard Calton D case. This one fits perfectly.

Body and sides are straight-grained Brazilian rosewood, beautiful hues. Gold Waverly tuners. According to SC, guitar was made in July, 2005, with the Brazilian rosewood for the body and peghead supplier by the dealer. Everything else standard. Santa Cruz does not "grade" the guitar as does Collings, but with the flawless straight grain, this would be at least AAA -- maybe a couple more A's.

Nut width by my calipers is exactly 1-23/32. Action with medium strings is 7+/64 on low E and 5+/64 on high e.

Non-stock items: Previous owner added a gold strap button (proper angle with soft washer underneath). I glued a strip of ebony veneer to the bottom of the original saddle to raise the action a bit.

Character of sound: A sweet sound, very balanced across the strings. Clear and penetrating when played with other instruments. Likes medium strings, flat pick, and an authoritative attack to bring out its full potential of sound.

Price (with Calton): $5,800. Will split shipping costs to USA or Canada. (Current list on TR Pro is $8,975, and like Collings sells for 10% discount.)

E-mail me at ajz5004@comcast.net if any questions. If you'd like to discuss by phone, send me an e-mal or PM, and I will respond with my phone number. I am in southeast Michigan, between Detroit and Ann Arbor.
