I'm selling my 9 year old D2h, since the arrival of my new Lanham. The D2h was originally ordered for a retiree, who then played it for an hour a day for the next 7 years. He sold it 2 years ago, and I bought it a year ago. It's got the most instantaneous response of any guitar that I've owned so far, along with wonderful volume and tone.

It's indian r/w, with a tight-grained sitka top that has wonderful silking in it. It has the optional 1-3/4" nut width, and nickel Waverly tuners. Standard Collings diamond inlays on the ebony fretboard, and a custom made compensated water buffalo horn saddle, with ebony pins.

It has a few playing marks on it. There are some some nicks on the upper bass side bout (pic 13, if you can see 'em), a few small nicks on the back of the headstock (pic 14), and there is thumb wear in the first position to the bare wood of the mahogany neck (pic 15). The finish wear on the neck is only cosmetic - you can't feel it with your hand or fingers at all, and it never has bothered me. It's just a sign that this guitar has been played, and explains the sweet sound and tone that it gives. None of the mentioned dents are noticeable (unless looking for imperfections), and don't affect the playability at all.

It's dated 1-95 on the inside logo sticker, and signed by Bill Collings. It is serial no. 1530 (they are over 10,000 now), and it comes with a 2 year old Collings Geib-style case. $2,400 plus shipping of your choice. Pics are at:

Gary, what a bummer it must be being a southpaw. Not only does it limit the positions you can play on a baseball team but it sure limit's buying and selling guitar's. Good luck.

Frank.
