I just experienced this guitar. It is an OM-C with a Sitka top and not an Adirondack top. Collings confirmed this. It was originally ordered with a Adirondack top but a Sitka was put on instead. Rip
i would think that an experienced player who knows Collings OMs would be able to tell the difference between adi and sitka in a NY minute.... not by looking at the grain, but just playing and listening.

Or, you could simply call Collings and ask what their records show for that serial number. But, if the guitar sounds fantastic, does it really matter, retroactively, what it was made from? Uh, no. Listen. Decide. tom
Yes indeed, Collings confirms it is Sitka. I think the guitar sounds fantastic. I had it wrong and purchased it under the impression and guidance that the top was an Adirondack. My bad. It all worked out. So sorry for the lame mistake.
