Count me in. I'm really looking forward to meeting the folks whose posts I've been reading for the better part of a year. Also wondering, do folks bring their guitars for show and tell? Smile I sure would love to (carefully) try someone's brazilian dread -- never seen one on a shop wall.

Big D - Yes, definitely folks bring their guitars. Don't know if anyone will have what you're looking for, but it is a pretty good guess that there will be one. Look forward to meeting you.

Would love to participate as much as I'm able. I live in San Antonio, so I hope to pop in and out. I'll look forward to seeing a detailed schedule once it's available.

I'll particularly look forward to seeing some of the instruments other forum members own - like a kid in a candy store! And, I'll bring along my own as well.

I'm in. Just bought my tickets. Now, has anyone flown Delta recently with a guitar in tow. Here's what their current policy states:

Carry-on Baggage
"Guitars and other smaller musical instruments, such as violins, will be accepted as your free carry-on baggage on Delta operated flights. These items must easily fit in the overhead compartment or approved stowage location in the cabin, on a space available basis at the time of boarding. If adequate space is not available, the item must be checked."

I hope someone is going to see this.....

Is it OK to just show up and hang out? I travel the country in the winter and can easily be in Texas in November....

I stay in Spicewood, have been to HCG, and am sort of familiar with the area....

And I have a few Collings!

Please let me know....

Norman,

That's what we all do! All are welcome. If you can make it Friday, the tour is one of the hightlights, and we usually get some extra time will Bill, Steve, or Bruce.

David,

I'll get all the info later, but I'll assume that "the tour" is a tour of the factory.

As a retired teacher (I still "work" as a lifeguard during summer), I have from November until mid-May to do pretty much as a choose....

See you folks in November!

Life is grand!!

I'm planning on coming with a friend who I will be staying with in Austin. I will also bring my Collings guitar collection with me, two of which I want to sell or trade. One is a 1996 0002H and the other one is a 2001 SJ.
