11:00 Salt Lick Barbecue
http://www.saltlickbbq.com/directions.htm
Not only is this the map to salt lick, it's the best area map.
Salt Lick is cash only, but you can carry in your beer
We'll eat then have some show and sing

3:00 Collings Factory Tour

http://www.collingsguitars.com/faq.htm

Dinner

7:00 Quincy's Jam
http://www.quincysguitars.com/location.php

Saturday
We'll gather at the Wimberly Inn
http://content.onlineagency.com/c/13/13021/3349972_13021.htm

We'll talk about lunch, where to hang out during the day, interesting local attractions...

11:00 Hill Country Guitars - Alejandro Escovedo will perform for us.
http://www.hillcountryguitars.com/wdirections.htm

HCG is a long walk or a short drive from the Inn

After HCG, we'll talk. Some are going to the Rice Festival, others will be jamming at the Inn, others may go into Austin...I'm sure we'll all find something worth doing.

Several questions:

If we bring beer to the Salt Lick Barbecue, what flavor do people like? I'll have a few extra bottles.... Smile

How well do people play, and is there any particular style of music? I was thinking of boning up on my Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen and maybe a couple of Broadway show tunes..... Big Grin Big Grin

Any idea how many will be showing up? If there's a longest distance travelled award, I'm driving down from Atlantic City!!

By the way, some folks might want to put Poodie's Hilltop on the agenda....

I'll drink just about any kind of beer if someone else is paying for it. Smile Shiner Bock is a local favorite though and should be experienced by visitors. It ain't the best beer I've ever had but it goes down easy and works really well with the Salt Lick bbq.

Playing abilities vary fairly widely. There'll be some bluegrass pickers in the crowd. Some classic rock players. Some folk and country too. Play whatever you like.

No awards.

No promises on how many will be there either. I never hear from everybody, so there's always some surprises and some no-shows. I expect at least a dozen. Just look for the tables with all the guitar cases. I'll also bring a big cooler, and I bet we can talk Allen into the same, to store whatever beer gets brought, whether it's Shiner Bock or some import.

Hey Joe,
Any chance of another workshop this year? I'm still working on the stuff from last year.
