After several rounds of intense negotiation on my part Wink I am proud to announce that there will be a fingerstyle workshop at the Gathering presented by our own Ace Batacan (a.k.a. eiko). Please join me in thanking Ace for agreeing to do this for us. This will be in addition to the already scheduled guitar clinic Kevin will be hosting for us at Hill Country Guitars. We'll be scheduling the particular time for Ace's workshop later once we have the specifics all worked out. We expect it to last approximately two hours.

Regards,
Allen

Thanks for the opportunity. I do small workshops off and on locally. The Gathering will be a much larger one but should be fun. Instead of this sounding like a formal clinic/workshop, I would look at this as a session where I can share what I know about fingerstyle. I'll talk about the different styles, learning/practice principles, arranging for solo playing, etc. I could also relate my experience working and recording with Pete Huttlinger on our recent CD project . That alone could go on all day. It was one of the best learning experiences I have gone through (preparing and playing).

Side note: I play mostly standard tuning (some Dropped D). Songs I do are mixed covers of Beatles and other popular songs, standards, folk, country, and some originals by Pete Huttlinger, Pat Kirtley, and others. Chet Atkins is a big influence (and he played just about any kind of song).

Anyway, I'm sure we'll all have a great time. looking forward to it.
