Allen -

I appreciate your thoughts on lodging. My thinking was that the folks at the Wimberley Inn enjoy having the group, it's relatively close to the factory, close to the Salt Lick, and close to Hill Country Guitars. Hill Country is planning a workshop or something during the Gathering. I enjoy staying in Austin as well, but for us out of towners, traffic is a bit dicey - at best.

Jim (and any others) -

The Wimberley Inn's phone number is 512-847-3750 and their web site is www.wimberleyinn.com. I have a rate chart that I would be happy to send you. You can contact me at jlkellyd28@comcast.net and I'll send it off to you.

Looking forward to seeing all of you in November.

I'll be there for the gathering. I usually stay at the Radisson by the 'bat bridge'...it's close to heaps of stuff in downtown and very close to Pat's shop...perhaps Pat will allow us to have a bit of a wine/jam fest at his place? I will certainly get with the group for the activities, and try not to be too hung over too.

I'm sure I'll head out to Wimberley to visit Kevin as well...it'd be great if he could get Willis Alan Ramsey again...or one of my favorites, REK...

It will be a great time....

Salt Lick/Factory on Friday, Steve M is looking for music for us

friday night jam at Quincy's

Kevin's still working on something. He's never disappointed us

As things firm up, I'll post specifics - times, events, artists... And try to find some ways to fill the spaces in between.

Hi all,

I've been following this forum for a couple of years now and, being about an hour from the Collings factory, would love to catch at least part of this gathering. Would it be possible to come when I can? What do I need to make reservations for the event? Thanks.

Ernie, glad to have you. We're nowhere as structured as getting everyone to make reservations. Come to what you can! As I get things firmed up, let me know which events you'll be able to attend wo we can expect you and get a general head-count,

Great to have you with us -

David

Hi everyone-

I have not posted on this topic only because my job situation is changing so I am not sure if I can attend. At any rate, I'll attend if I can but it will be a last minute thing. I do hope a lot of Forumites attend this upcoming one. I (we) had a blast last year for sure. The Gathering was one of my highlights last year. Great to meet the attendees (placing faces against the names) and jam with everyone. It was a special time. Pat (Quincy's), Kevin (Hill Country), Steve and Bill (Collings) all went out of their way to accomodate us with what we wanted to do. Class acts all around. That's what makes our little community special.

David - thanks to you and everyone jumping in to coordinate this. I know it's a lot of work. Allen did a great job last year. I really hope I can make it. I want to play your C-10 again! Eek

Dale - Hangover? You're a great player. Is that your secret? Big Grin

I tried very hard to persuade my Fiancee to have our honeymoon in Austin, Texas and join the gathering together. (Our wedding is on 3rd of November this year) But she rejected!! Eek

I missed last year (due to work) and this year (due to wedding).. I'll definitely plan to come next year guys! I really want to meet Ace, David, Allen, Kevin at Hills and many others. And I want to play David's C10 as well.

Ed, if there was ever a good reason not to attend, you've got it. Besides, if you married a girl who let you take a guitar pilgrimmage for a honeymoon, we'd all file for divorce and try to steal her from you!

Ace, it won't be the same if you can't make it, but real life happens. I know you'll be trying.

David

P.S. My C-10 was looking forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones as well.

Ernie, I'm just up the hill in Stone Oak! We'll carpool any days you can make it! And I'll be sure to let you know next time David R comes over to play!

Small world!

David, If it's not too late, add me to the list. Fall and guitars in Austin is too good to pass up! See you there.
Cheers, Will
