David - count me in for sure. I'll book my airline ticket this weekend. What's the deal on lodging, meals, etc.? I'll book my ticket and reserve a rental car. Any other details I need to work on at this time?

David,

Perhaps we can decide on a hotel where we can book a block of rooms so that we can have a place to play. I went recently to a Martin forum gathering and we essentially took over an entire hotel and it was quite a party. Maybe we can do something similar on a smaller scale.

I am going to try to make it some of this (I live in Drippin', just down the road (290) from Collings). We have guests that weekend but I'd like to check this out. And I'll bring my custom D1-A so Allen can play the best Collings dreadnought in Texas. Wink And the MT2-V too 'cause there will be a whole lotta guitars. Eek

Clem aka Geoff

DS1AH...a SERIOUS guitar
MT2V

various non-Collings things with strings

Allen,

Glad you are coming, but I didn't know you were planning to bring my D1A with you. Big Grin I guess I'll have to borrow your KCB for the weekend!

In case no one's noticed, I modify the list of attendees in at the top of the page as we get notice on the board.

JKelly is confirming with the Wimberly Inn, which Allen found for us last year. Nice place with rooms for playing, nice outdoor areas if the weather permits. Don't book anything till we hear from Jim though.
And Jim, thanks for the help.

I just spoke with the folks at the Wimberley Inn and they would really like to see us all there again this year. I would like to find out how many of you have solid plans to attend and are interested in staying at the Wimberley. The rates are $89 on week nights and $109 on the weekend nights (Friday and Saturday). So, if you could post and let me know your plans and accommodation needs, I'll get the particulars from the Wimberley. Thanks.

Jim

The Wimberley Inn is a nice quiet place to stay. The rooms are comfortable and clean and the owners are very nice people. However, Wimberley can be very limited when it comes to entertainment and eats. You might also consider staying in Austin. Either toward downtown or southwest toward the Collings factory. Choices in Austin for entertainment and eats are numerous and mostly excellent. One place we considered last year was the Hotel San Jose on South Congress (http://www.sanjosehotel.com/). Kind of a funky little place that is right in the heart of the Austin SoCo music and art scene. In general, it will probably be a little more expensive to stay in Austin than in Wimberley.

Anyway, I just thought I'd throw that out there for consideration.

Count me in for the 10th, 11th and 12th of Nov. Just let me know what the decision on the hotel is and I'll make my reservation there. Thanks.
