I've been working with Brian at Collings, and it looks like the factory tour will start at 10:30 Friday morning.

The BIG part is the Collings player clinic. Brian has arranged, AT NO CHARGE TO US, for Steve James to give a clinic at the Collings factory! Timing is up in the air, since they don't want to disrupt the workday at the factory, details posted ASAP.

I can't say how excited I am about this. Steve James is an incredible acoustic slide player, and I love his music. If you haven't heard him, be sure to check him out. Without sounding like a critic, he's a bit raw and very roots-based, which is how I like slide guitar. He plays a custom C-10 with extremely heavy strings.

Kevin at Hill Country Guitars is working on getting a clinic for us for Saturday. There may be a slight fee to cover the cost of the clinician, but it looks like small potatoes when factored into the whole weekend - way less than a round of golf at a nice course...

I hope this announcement gets a few more people to commit to coming!

David

I likely will not be able to make the tour and Steve James clinic at the factory on Friday. I will, however, be available to drink beer and tell lies Friday night. I should also be able to make any jams, clinics, etc. in Wimberley on Saturday.

David, what is the head count for the Collings weekend now? Are we meeting for breakfast or coffee beforehand like last year? I've been telling people about the great time I had at Collings since last year? I'm jazzed to do it again!! Do we know if Bill will be in town and be able to lead the tour? IMO that was the icing on the cake. Cheers, Will
