For those of you who might attend this year's C.A.A.S. (Chet Atkins Appreciation Society) in July, Artisan Guitars (a Nashville dealer) is sponsoring a pre-convention party/concert. It's open to the attendees and the public. The announcement is below:

If you are in Nashville for the CAAS show this summer, forum members have an open invitation to our Pre-CAAS party at the Factory in Franklin.

Confirmed thus far, Ace Batacan, Joe Carpenter, Gareth Pearson, Bob Evans, Muriel Anderson, and Stephen Bennett. Show starts at 6:00 (maybe earlier), and is still in the planning stages.

This party / concert is open to the public and CAAS members, with a live stage at the Factory. We look forward to seeing you all there for a great warm up to CAAS.

With any luck, this could become an annual concert!

A huge thanks to the wonderful artists who are working with us to make this happen.

Ed,
It should be a good show and I'm sure it can be videotaped just like I've recorded the previous performances at the CAAS gatherings.

I normally take my Morris guitar there but with a concert like this, I'm tempted to bring either my OM1A or 000.

We'll only have 30 minutes each but part of my set will be (all instrumentals):
- Georgia On My Mind (my arrangement) - slow jazz tempo)
- Darcy's Guitar (Pete Huttlinger song)
- Julia (Beatle's tune)
- Leader of the Band (Dan Fogelberg song)

A friend of mine (young singer Laura Kilgore) from Alabama might be there so I'll have her sing a song with me. AT CAAS 2004, she did a couple of songs with Tommy Emmanuel at his concert.

It will be a lot of fun for sure. To me, it's an honor to even be included in the line up of players. Thanks for your interest.

Ace
