I wanted to start this thread to highlight the accomodations information that might get lost in the main gathering thread.

We will be headquartered at The Wimberley Inn in beautiful Wimberley, TX.

We have a letter from them as well as room rates details that you should read before making your reservation.

The cancellation policy is not included in the letter or rates information, but I believe it is as follows:

- When you make your reservation the first night's rent will be immediately charged to your credit card.
- If you cancel the reservation more than 8 days before the first night checkin you will get the deposit back minus $10.
- If you cancel within 8 days of the first night checking you forfeit the entire deposit.

Please check with the folks at The Wimberley Inn for clarification of their cancellation policy when you make your reservations just to be sure.

Once you have made your reservation if you will reply to this thread and let us know then we can keep up with how many we have so we'll know if we qualify for the discounted rates. Please mention to them that you are part of the Collings group when you make your reservation.

Thanks,
Allen

I just made my reservations for the gathering at WImberly Inn, check-in Sept. 29th and check-out Oct 2nd. Ed and I decided to share a room to cut down on expenses. I got us one of the "Limited Rooms". I was told that it's just slightly nicer than the Standard (which are still good rooms).

*Tip - the first night should be a weekday rate and the second and third are weekend rates.

Hey Allen ,Ace ,ED, Thanks for your tune up on the gathering. Made our reservations a while back. At sometime in every workday I think "wow, I"m gonna be in Texas with fine fellows and great guitars". Excitement must be showing because my loving wife thinks I should get another guitar there if I find one I like.,,, Find one I Like??? Oh lordy!! Can't imagine a guitar that works better for my needs than my d2ha. Gigs, Jams, solo quiet times. However, a sunburst cj is such a work of art. see you then .Thats the news from this corner of Oregon.Fred

I will be coming down from Garland(Dallas). Anyone interested in sharing a standard room with 2 queen beds and splitting costs? If so, contact me at wpope1@comcast.net. We could meet at the inn and it wouldn't matter where you are coming from. I plan to stay the whole time.

Your wife is thinking you should get another one? That's more pressure for you compared to trying to convince her you need it. That's like setting a kid free in a candy store. She may regret this. Big Grin Just kidding of course. Nice to have a spouse that supports your "bad" habit. Mine is the same way. Consider ourselves lucky.

Looking forward to seeing you there.

I just spoke with the folks at the Wimberley Inn and they need to free up the rooms they had blocked off for us if we aren't going to reserve them. I told them to go ahead and free them up. So, if you are planning to stay at the Wimberley Inn and haven't yet made a reservation, you need to do that soon.

Woody, did you find somebody to bunk with? I just made my reservation for a standard with queen bed, but if you want to share a room I'm sure I can get them to change that to one with two queen beds. Let me know if you want to do that. For that matter if anyone else would like to share the expense of a room with me let me know and I'll change the reservation I have.

Bill Colling's twelve-fret slot head triple-O size guitar, made to an obsessive level of perfectionism, and sounding like wind chimes on acid, is as close to perfection as one is going to ever come in a six-string fingerstyle instrument. --Mandolin Bros Review || 000-2hss | 000-18wg | prs_c22 ||
