Rick Ruskin (http://www.liondogmusic.com) is one of the founders of modern American fingerstyle guitar. He was a live-in student of Reverend Gary Davis, and has been recording since the early 70s. His playing is an inspiring combination of funky rhythm and smooth melody. He plays a broad spectrum of pop, folk, blues, and originals and has plenty of entertaining stories between tunes.

We're excited to be hosting this show at our home on Saturday, 4/23, with the music starting at 8 PM and doors open at 7. I'll be serving both sweet and savory treats. A $20 donation is requested.

All the info is at http://www.fxguidry.com/ruskin2005

Thanks,
Fran

Rick is a terrific teacher as well as player, so I've asked him if he'd be interested in doing a little workshop after the house concert. He's up for it, I'm up for it, if you're up for it bring a guitar to the show and we'll steal all of Rick's hot licks after the show.

Ace, it was really nice to hear from you this evening. I might just have to bake up another batch of lemon tarts since we're starting to get a few more people signing up. I just finished mixing up a batch of special truffles from an Alice Medrich recipe and Rick Ruskin's favorite peanut butter cookies are waiting to bake off. I look forward to meeting you.

Ace, I can't thank you enough for making the trip for the Ruskin show. I sure enjoyed your playing, also. Look forward to getting together again.

Fran,
The pleasure was mine. Rick Ruskin was great and so were the hosts. Smile

Met some nice folks too. We had a nice collection of guitars in that living room that night!

I'll talk to you soon.
