How many of the people attending would be interested in a songwriters clinic? Ray Wylie Hubbard, Alejandro Escovedo, Susan Gibson and Jeff Plankenhorn are all customers of my shop. I'm sure at least one of them will be in town that weekend and could do it for me.

Just want to check interest levels before I move forward.

Excellent idea, Kevin. When you speak with RWH, remind him that he did something comparable several years ago at Austin College here in Sherman. Ray gave an impromptu "lecture" on songwriting to a nice group of interested college types.

Kevin,

Given that I can't yet commit, but am very interested, this workshop sounds very good to me. If I come to the gathering, I would be sure to attend such a workshop.

I just spoke with Alejandro Escovedo and he's tentatively agreed to do a songwriting clinic on Oct. 1. He's needs to check with his manager, and will confirm with me soon. I'll keep you posted.

BTW, Al started playing Collings just a few months ago. He's played J45s and J50s forever. He's now playing a CJ SB, and loving it.

Excellent! Let me know when it's final, Kevin, and I'll update the schedule thread.

Btw, you should put a H&D DS in his hands and see what he thinks of it. Smile

I think this would be a great addition...and, perhaps we could also add a fingerpicking seminar for those of us still trying to figure this guitar thing out...

I got word from Kevin last week that Alejandro has a prior commitment out of town during the weekend of the gathering so he won't be able to do it. Kevin is working on lining up another local talent for the workshop. We'll make an announcement once that is finalized.
