Dunno if any of you have Facebook so I'll put in the text of the event page there & a link to the listing:
Fundraising benefit show for original NRBQ guitarist Steve Ferguson. Steve was a founding member of the greatest American pop band of the last four or five decades. He also spent a fair amount of time in the area during the 90's as an artist for the Schoolkids Records label. Steve is suffering from cancer and without health insurance. He's also the best damn guitarist and singer/songwriter you (possibly) never heard of. Even if you aren't already a diehard fan, the lineup is worth the measly $7 at the door. George Bedard, Steve Nardella, Steve Springer & Brent Stanley, Big Dave & The Ultrasonics (partial) reunion, the Ypsitucky Colonels, and others. House band is Michael Lipton & The Carpenter Ants, the band from West Virginia's "Mountain Stage" show heard on NPR. Plus...failed Rubber Soul Records goofs Waxy Will Stewart & B-side Bob Nolan will spin beloved and rare Fergie/NRBQ records before and between and after and until they kick us out. Don't be a jerk and miss it. Get there early, this blessed event starts at 6:30 pm. Fergie himself is planning to come in from Louisville if he's feeling up to it. Can you say happy hour for old peoples? Date: Friday, May 29, 2009 Time: 6:30pm - 11:55pm Location: Guy Hollerin's @the Holiday Inn Street: 3600 Plymouth RD City/Town: Ann Arbor, MI Schoolkids Records Benefit For NRBQ's Steve Ferguson '08 D2HSB |
