Thanks Ed -

My first question is is this the right place for posting notices and information? Or should I be using the gigs, workshops and gatherings section - or both? You'll have to help me learn how to be a moderator, and how to take best advantage of it.

For everyone else, I'm getting in touch with Steve McCreary and Kevin at Hill Country Guitars. From what I've read so far, some time at Collings, at Hill Country Guitars in Wimberly (just 30 minutes or so from the factory), maybe at Kinscherff Guitars, Tony Nobles...

Places to eat, places to stay, places to jam... That should about cover it, right?

And September/October in Wimberly should be beautiful. But it looks like I need to gather some information from Collings, Kinscherff, Nobles and Kevin Davis. That info may make a decision for us, and will certainly narrow the options down.

If anyone has any great ideas, or wants to get on the attendance list, drop an e-mail to dely@satx.rr.com. Put Collings or some other identifier in the subject line so my wife doesn't clean you out before I see you.

David (and for those that remember guitars better than people, I have the DS2H)

Have you heard if Tommy Emmanuel will be avalable?

Once we pick a date, I can do some digging to see who's available.

Last October, at the RMMGA's annual gathering in Wimberley, I got really lucky and had Tommy Emmanuel in the shop for a 2-hour workshop. Who knows, I might get lucky again.

There are two other great builders here in Wimberley, Jamie Kinscherff and Tony Nobles. I'm sure Jamie would love to show people his shop and a few guitars in process. Tony Nobles, writes a monthly article for Vintage Guitar and is now also building flat tops. He built Ray Wylie Hubbard's three guitars, and just finished a Brazilian dreadnought for Pat Green.

One other possibility is to rent out one of the B&Bs here in Wimberley for everyone. We're just 45 minutes to downtown Austin, and only 25 minutes to Collings.

Kevin tried, but could not get Tommy to do a workshop - booked too tight during the tour, I suppose.

kevin is still trying to get a local singer songwriter, and Jamie Kinscherff will let us tour as well. I haven't posted for Saturday yet, as I don't have times. I'd like to start a little later on Saturday than Friday, then get to whatever Kevin pulls off for us.

Lunch on Saturday at Loco Maria's, which I'm told is guitar friendly. Friday lunch could be same, maybe at that restaurant by the factory?
