Just did my first ever gig tonight. I opened for Chuck Pyle in Jacksonville, Texas. It went well. I was nervous, but pushed through it, and had an awesome time. Applause is pretty heady stuff. Did 5 tunes, all original. BTW, Chuch Pyle is an awesome performer, and incredible guitar player. My Collins om2hac served me very well.

Can't imagine how exciting that must have been Bill.

Went to see Pierre Bensusan two weeks ago, and got to hear a 5 song intro act by Andy Sheppard (www.andysheppard.com). He plays a Lowden, cedar top. I loved his work and bought his CD. Pierre is quite obviously amazing, but I'm not into the jazz edge of his stuff that much, and actually preferred the surprise opening act.

I imagine that Andy was as excited as you to get a shot at an opening act.

I'll bet it motivated you to practice like a madman.

Stuart

Good motivation for sure. To practice, and to write some more songs.

Bill, Congratulations on your first gig! Really sounds exciting. I don't play well enough to play in public (hardly play well enough to play in private, either). But, I did join the Portland Guitar Society a couple of months ago, and we have an open mic after we conduct our business meeting each month. Have been practicing on a John Fahey song, and hope to find the courage to play in front of a crowd soon. Again, congratulations! Would love to have you post some mp3s on our forum for the rest of us to listen to. Keep it going! Billy Boy
