I've spoken with Steve, Kevin (Hill Country) and Pat (Quincy's).

Weekend of November 9, 10, 11 is confirmed for this year's gathering. Apologies to those who prefer fall, but democracy and all that.

HOWEVER - if Ed finally gets a chance to hop the Pacific, I'm willing to do it all again - after all, he is The Creator, and he'd be flying farther than anyone else. So Ed, if your vacation plans go to Texas, let me know, and we'll see who we can get together for tours, barbecues, beers, and lots of music! George and all the other snowbirds, I hope you can make it then!

More details as they develop.

By the way, Steve McCreary sent me this link - a music festival in Wimberly on the same weekend.

If you plan on coming to the gathering, RSVP with names and numbers attending by replying to this posting. It's not a committment, but it does give our hosts an idea of how many to plan for. Comments and suggested acitivities are welcomed as well! I'd love to hear ideas for enriching the whole gathering experience. For starters, I'm considering finding a hotel in south Austin rather than Wimberly for safer driving and better night life.

BTW, if wives aren't interested in the whole gathering thing, Wimberly is a lovely little town with lots of cool shops, and Austin and San Antonio (as well as points in between) offer shopping and cultural interests as well.

I'll be there! I don't really have a ton of space for hosting stuff at my house, but since I'm local to the area I'd love to help out. Just let me know what I can do.

Hi Folks...I plan on being there. I attended the Cabin 10 last year and it was a hoot. Where else could you hear Peter Rowan play Bob Marley's Redemption Song? A lot of great music in a cool place out in the middle of what seemed like nowhere.

I hope to see some of you Austin folks soon too. I'll be flying to Austin the 20th and heading back on the 29th. NAMM show, Collings open house Friday the 27th and Saturday night party at the Continental Club...Also, Todd Snider is playing at the Lakeway Resort on Sunday the 22nd for Live at the Lake, so I'm going to stay there on Sunday night...Free concert...I'll buy you a beer if you show up.

Kia Manuia,

Dale

I'm going to try to make this one. If anyone from the Milwaukee area wants to hook up shoot me a call or email and we will see if we can pull this off. Attention Kenny B. and my other Southern neighbors.

I'm thinking a early to mid week departure so that we can enjoy some of the other things either enroute or in the Greater Austin area. Returning Sunday early am. for a late night return home. I drove home in 18 hrs. from the first gathering all by myself.

Later,
Papple

Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to see all these friends returning to the gathering.

Hope more of you consider making the trip.

Don't forget to reserve some time in Spring when Ed comes down!

I'll be there, D1A in tow. Other than flying through Dallas/Ft Worth airport, I've never seen Texas. I'm ready for some of that barbecue I've heard so much about.

I'm seriously interested. I'm only a 1 year Collings owner, but I already have 2 of them and and another within the week. I also have a brother in Houston that would like a visit, so perhaps I can kill two birds with one stone (trip). I still need to firm up my schedule (I can't afford to be buying Collings guitars every six months and take multiple vacations) and make sure it is feasible, but as I said I'm seriously interested. I'd love to tour the factory.

Two Collings, two Huss & Daltons, a Bourgeois, an H&F, and a bunch of Martins.
