Anyone within driving distance is invited! I've been looking forward to this one for a long time. Steve is one of the best blues harmoncica players around. Also a great singer and Nice Guy to boot  David Berchtold with Steve "The Harp" Mehlberg Saturday, Aug 19th, 5:30 - 7:30 PM Mackinaw Valley Vineyard on the Patio 4 miles east of Mackinaw on Rte. 9 Chops, Dogs, and Brats avaialble at the show. Hip Pocket plays on the main stage at 7:30! Their 20th anniversary show! These guys play great party rhythm and blues. How good are they? They got invited to play for President Bill Clinton! Hi Ed, Thanks for the encouragement.
The show was an absolute hoot. Steve and I played to 80-100 people on the patio, and another hundred or two down on the lawn waiting on Hip Pocket. Steve is a joy to jam with. His control of the harp is unbelievable. He can play acousticcally with excelent dynamics, or through his little nifty fifty amp and get dirty. Dirty works withy my acoustic, because he keeps it under control. Great crowd response, and the venue wants us back. I play there quite a bit solo, but I think I (we) reached a new audience with this show. I'd post a song, but I forgot to turn the recroder on! Oh one more thing, Hip Pocket pulled in the best crowd ever at the Vineyard - over 600 people! Woo hoo! David So many songs, so little time...
