I've been in touch with Brian Smith at Collings - he's checking on their available dates for a tour and possibly a clinic, and he's thinking late September. Kevin Davis at Hill Country Guitars is ready to arrange some activities - tours with one-man shop builders in the area and a few other ideas - once we get times and dates from Collings.

Brian, I wonder if you got to a point when organizing the last gathering where you were worried that people's efforts and time would be spent on just a very few forum members, and might not be worth their effort (not mine - making these calls and e-mails is easy). I surely hope several of us can make it!

So let's start a tentative head count - how many of us think we can get to Austin in the fall?

As long as it isn't the last weekend in October thru the first in November, I'm in.

David, I think you just have to set things up and whoever shows shows and whoever don't don't. One thing I would recommend is having certain places to meet for meals and let people know when and where ahead of time. Also, I think it'd be cool if we could have an open mic/jam somewhere one night of the gathering. The Cypress Creek Grill in Wimberley might be a good place for that.
