We're a little over a week away from the Gathering and this should be the final update. If you will visit the Forum Gathering web page you'll see I've added a couple items for Saturday; a visit with Tom Ellis at Precision Pearl Inlay and a visit with the Gibson Guitars folks at Heart of Texas Music. I've been assured by Tom Ellis and Tom's assistant, Nina Kovars, that the Gibson folks are first rate and worth the visit. I've also updated the attendee list with the latest info I have. I have also put my home phone number on the web page so youse guys can give me a call when you get to town if you need to.

Do y'all want to just meet at Jim's Restaurant on Friday morning or should we meet at the Extended Stay America and go from there as a group? Either way is fine with me. Jim's really isn't that hard to find.

Whoo Hooo! only a week away. I took an extra day off work so I'll be in Austin late Thursday afternoon....I can't wait. Big Grin

I have a question though, If we meet @ Jim's for breakfast could we get directions posted for us out of town folks? I looked on city search/Austin and several are listed so I'm not sure which one.

I know it's probably really easy to find.

Smile

I rode out to Nutty Brown Cafe at lunch today to give them a heads up for next Friday and see what they had in case of foul weather. If the weather's nice we'll be on their big patio. In case of foul weather they have a bar area that the manager said we could just take over. For those of you coming in on Thursday they have an open mic on Thursday nights at Nutty Brown Cafe. We might get together and go check that out if you like.

I stopped by Collings too. They are fired up and looking forward to our visit! This is going to be a lot of fun, folks. I can hardly wait!! Big Grin

Oh boy! I'm getting excited now! I might try to get by the Nutty Brown Thursday night. I get in Wed for business and I;m not sure if I have a business dinner Thurs or not. Let me know if and when on Thurs and I'll try to come by.

The open mic runs from 7:30 - 11:00 p.m. I believe. Let me if you want to go out there to it. I might be able to break away after I get my kids put to bed. It'd be around 9:00 or so before I could head over, but I live only about 10 minutes from there.

I probably won't know 100% for sure until Wednesday Night or Thursday morning. The work thing has to drive this trip since it is on the company's dime. If the work people want to take me out to an expensive dinner I might feel obligated to go. I try to get them to take me on Wednesday. Smile

No reason you can't meet us at Collings at 10:00, Bill. That'll work just fine.
