BOWERS AND QUINN IN HOUSE CONCERT, SANTA FE

Michael Bowers and Siobhan Quinn, award-winning singers, songwriters, and guitarist [Michael] will be presented in House Concert in Santa Fe on Friday, April 17th, 2009 at the home of Cynthia Becker- Murdock and Teck Murdock. Bowers and Quinn live in Alexandria, VA, and have traveled and performed across America, and Europe, Ireland, and England.

Their songwriting is outstanding, varied, poignant, funny, and romantic...their performance is moving, powerful and completely natural...their voices entrance and excite, together or alone. Soibhan Quinn posseses one of the great voices of the world...a simple fact pointed out to me, Jerry Faires, by her husband Michael Bowers when we met at the guitar store in Santa Fe a few years back. As he tried out guitars I complimented him on his singing...Michael just looked up and smiled, and said,"You need to hear my wife..." Soon I did, and he was more than correct. Siobhan's flexible, soaring, evocative voice goes right to the soul of the song, and to the heart of the listener. We have become dear friends, and I, a huge admirer of their work.

I am so happy to have been offered the Murdock home to bring these fine musicians to our Santa Fe audience. After our friends, the Soules, moved to North Carolina, it seemed our 'run' of six years of house concerts ran aground, leaving a gap in our ability to see and hear truly fine music in a comfortable and personable setting. Cynthia and Teck, excellent musicians in their own right, have stepped in to provide a venue for our house concerts... and we all owe them our thanks.

I urge you to do yourselves a real favor, and take advantage of this chance to enjoy the performance of music from some of America's very best, and most highly respected singer/ songwriters, Siobhan Quinn and Michael Bowers. And, if you play guitar, or just love great guitar playing, then you need to see and hear the splendid and versatile Mr. Bowers bring fine music out of his guitars...both 6-string and resonator guitars are played with complexity and taste...finger style or flat-picked.
