Kenny, I have never paid much attention to these. I just went and had a good look. It seems to be an amazing looking axe. Are they all this pretty? What did this sell for new? I always wonder when Ebay sellers don't put the $ amount down, why that is?... Kerry K

a deluxe is about $11k. i have a plain old mf5 varnish. played a whole gaggle of them one day and decided that the $9k version was the one. so, it only goes to prove that buying with your ears and your hands wins out over bling some times. i will estimate that it will go over $8k when all is said and done.

I purchased this mandolin in late April when it was being auctioned by eBay seller Mitch Simpson. It was a superb instrument, but it was represented as Near Mint, and imho was not. (Good sized top ding, finish issues on inside of scroll, some belt buckle rash.) I decided to return it for that reason-first long distance purchase I have ever had to return.
