Just returned from a great mandolin/guitar/banjo camp in Tennesee. I was in the intermediate class and of 15 pickers in my class five played Collings mandos (all MT-2s or MTs). At the late late night jams I saw a couple of MF-5s. Collings was certainly well represented at this fine BG acoustic camp. Cheers. Chuck

Hey Chuck--

This is totally off topic, but I saw you lived in Va. Beach. I'll be moving there in September. Will be looking for some folks to pick with once I get settled. I play mando and guitar.

On topic, I hope to attend Kamp in the next year or two. And my next instrument purchase will probably be an MT-2V.

Take care,
Shaun

Shuan: Sounds good. Just send me a PM message when you get here so you can establish contact. I play Bluegrass mainly but also venture into Dead, Dylan, CSNY stuff for good measure. Hope to jam with you in the fall. BTW, VA Beach is a great place to live. Chuck

Hey Chuck,

I'm the guy from Atlanta who was at Kamp and who was raised in Va. Beach. (Bayside '77!) What a great week we had!

There were a ton of Collings guitars around Kamp too, and I got to play in a jam at Carnegie on Sat. night after the concert with the D2h that Warren Knorr won in the giveaway. A great sounding new guitar!

Hey Gary: It was nice meeting you, too. I was hanging out with Bill Reynolds (my cousin-in-law) so I played some great old D-18s. I do love my D1-A though, I think it's a fine bluegrass guitar that can hang with the big dogs. Hope to see you next year. Give me a holler if you come to VA Beach and we'll pick.
regards, Chuck

Wow, Craig, I didn't know you were kin to Bill Reynolds! We live pretty close to each other, and were in the same class at Kamp all week long. Bill is a great guy!

And he has some pretty fine D-18's too, you're right about that.
