Yes, we understand and we gather to help you in this time of need.

Our group, MEAN (mandolin enablers are nice) are here to assist you in your journey.

I was wanting one yesterday so I bought this little thing. Place you cursor over the picture of the solid back wood grain and stare without blinking.

It barks like a tied-up mastiff with a chihuahua eating out of it's bowl.

Larry,
That one will do quite nicely my friend.
I've also been eying this little honey amber beauty:
WOW!
Collings instruments are the most beautiful made by the hand of man and that honey amber finish on spruce coupled with that birdseye maple is downright classy and beautiful.

I played that beauty Mark and I can't remember if it was the normal sounding MT2 or the bright and singing MT2....2 birdseyes....one bad memory. Both were out of this world gorgeous one was heavier than the other but either would be a fine choice. The brighter one especially good for old-time/trad BG music. The other darker more romantic sounding. What does Mary remember?

There are (or were) a couple of nice looking MT2s in the Mandolin Cafe Classifieds for excellent prices. Also, both Jeff at Acoustic Vibes and Greg Boyd have some things. Both great guys!

Cowboy,
Thanks for throwing fuel on my fire. Wink
Sounds like a win win situation, I need to plan a visit to Acoustic Music Works soon!

Stolky,
Thanks for the Acoustic Vibes tip, I've never heard of them but they've certainly got some beauties in stock.
Too bad Arizona is a wee bit further away from me than Pittsburgh. Frown

i've bought from Jeff also. nice guy.

so, what does mary remember about the amber mandos......not much as i was enamoured with this
http://www.acousticmusicworks.com/F5V582.html
and could not get away from it.

i'd say mark that if the drive is do-able get thee to pittsburgh for the day. plant yourself in the showroom and play them all.

because if i were buying on pure looks i'd be buying that blonde MF5v or the ultra swanky deluxe deluxe and the real player would be forever unknown to me. if you go at the beginning of the week Charlie Rappaport is there. charlie plays everything from klezmer to bluegrass and back again. i believe he was mike marshall's mandolin teacher.

That's the plan, I just hope one day is enough time. Wink
