You NEED the Tiny Matching Pickgaurd !!
I bet at this time, Bill Collings loves this look, and will do it. They cut all their own gaurds anyway.
If this was your idea, he'd send it to you in exchange for Consultation Fee!

Bill, I'd get a pickguard on this thing come hellerhighwater. At this point if I were you, I'd be going nuts to get one and cut it down.!

I do wish I had asked for a scrap of material I could make a guard out of. Not sure about one on a uke, but it would look nice next to the C10!

Maybe just to set on there for a photo op.

I did come up with the Uke Western idea. They liked it and made one to my specs. Great folks!

Call Collings, they're proud of THAT uke !
They will want the gaurd to be just as Perfect size wise, as the rest of it !
BTW i have 5 Collings guitars with no pickgaurds or Endpins. The pins are like a Prong on an otherwise very Feminine body. This uke needs the gaurd for the whole Western Mystique. Rawhide !!
the Western club is exclusive, they won't call my C-10 a western due to short scale vintage neck... otherwise it is just like Bill's here.

Did you say that they would'nt put it on or talk about doing the work? If you get one, and get it on there, the Mojo factor goes WAYYYYY up my friend. By the way, for some reason, I like your Western shaded tops. I usually dislike them quite a bit. Maybe I just needed to see them side by side..

I never mentioned a pickguard to the folks at Collings, didn't think about it.

OK, I'll call Monday. Still sounds kind of goofy on a uke, but I'll look into it.

I ordered this through Tim Nelson at Guitars, Etc. in Longmont Colorado. Maybe he can help with getting me one. Especially after this blatant advertising.

I'm a big fan of the Western shaded tops. They do photograph a little strange. The lighting in the guitar dungeon is a bit odd, but I don't use a flash.

We realize its not necessary to Play it, but with the scaled down Gaurd, it would be a Perfect miniature.
Ukes seem to have a personality all their own, where anything goes, like the Red one at AMW with the pearl"Rhinestones" in the headstock.
Bet Collings will do it once they consider it, didn't cross their mind the first time... Might cost you $50, normal price on all their gaurds. They will have to find a section of plastic with tiny spots from the bulk piece.

Kerry the Western tops look much better in person, flash usually ruins them on websites.

Edit to Bill, come to think of it, Collings is closed untill first of the year.

Well, what about the P/G ? Even if you don't permanately attach it, its just missing in the photos. I'd put it on permanately, ukes of 1920's had all sorts of decoration, mostly Cheese, The tiny Collings Western is ALL CLASS !!

Geez, I don't know. Looks a bit strange. No, it's not glued down. However, this is what a matching pickguard would look like:

Compared to:

Boy, the lighting sure is different. New light bulb in the dungeon.
