Here's my Old Wave mandola, built by Bill Bussman for me last year. Its got amazing sustain, warm tone, and is easy on the hands.

So if Collings would make an Oval A2 for me in black, I'd have a set.

Nice! Here's mine: it'll be a century old in seven years time. C'mon, Bill and crew. Bring on an oval.

Wow!!! What a beautiful instrument! I've never had the pleasure with an Old Wave but, I'd love to. Easy on the hands sounds good to me!

Here's the black top group, and there's a black top Old Wave octave mandolin to join us in September or so. These two are all the mandos I expect to own, but if Collings builds an A4, I'm all over it.

I asked Collings for a honey colored stain on the back and sides; Bill Bussman and I discussed the colors in reference to single malts.

Someone posted over on the mandolincafe that Collings will have the oval hole models at the summer NAMM show. This is exciting news!! Anyone heard anything else?
