I went to Madison Music this afternoon to pick up a check and left with an MT Oval on order. It's already in production but I was able to specify honey amber finish with a gloss top. Alex says 4 to 6 weeks. I am excited!

I had the exact MT Oval you are talking about, Honey Amber and all. I sold it a while back in hopes of an MF Oval hole.
WELL, I have that Honey Amber MF now and it is very quickly taking over as my favorite Mando of the two I own. I thought the A style Oval was nice, and the F style is even better. Great throaty sound to it, and LOUD. Let us know how the MT Oval is when she gets here. Rick A few too many ! |

I'll definitely post my impressions. My Mt2 and MF of course have Adirondack tops I'm really looking forward to the Englemann as a nice change. I'm also excited about the gloss top. My MF which dates from April 2004 has developed some shinny spots on the top. On one hand its a sign of a well played instrument but I wish it had the gloss top.

I think the honey amber mandolins look especially nice with the ebony button tuners.
