I see what all the fuss is about with these MTs. While I preferred it to anything else in it's price range when I was auditioning different models, you really appreciate it when you get it in your home. Great setup right out of the box though I'll probably have it tweaked after I know what I'm doing since I'm new to mandolins. It has a nice woody sound with lots of depth and the wide neck makes it easier for me to go back and forth between guitar and mandolin. It also has a great look with the famous Collings sunburst and the satin finish is fine with me.
I ended up buying it new because used ones just don't seem to appear very often, go fast when they do and sell for only a few hundred dollars less than new. Besides, the wide neck is too new for used models to be available just yet. This is a great addition to my OM1A and I can't wait to record a few pieces with both together.
