Hi Im new to the forum,I have a MF5 #90,Its with out a dought the best mandolin Ive ever had.Just curious what strings do you prefer for the MF5? Thanks firewood w/frets

although I don't have an Mf5, I do have an f style with a red spruce top. I like DAddario J75 for the extra string tension. I'm about to try some stainless JS74s just to check out the tone.
When I had my MT i used Gibon Sam Bush monels, & liked the tone alot but found the thin E & A strings wimpy for aggressive playing. Hope this helps you out

I run the EXP 74's on mine and they work well. I have had the 75's on before, but the feel was a bit too stiff for my liking. The 75's did get a bit more volume out of the instrument, but since my MF5 is sooooo loud to begin with, the 74's really don't sacrifice anything in my book.
