Is anyone in the area, or been to the store recently, and played this little gem?
http://www.quincysguitars.com/instruments_collings_mtmand.php Report? It looks pretty sweet and I'm flirting with the notion... -sk |

black tops are sweet. i have one that started the whole collings mando thing for me over again......just something about a blacktop.
i think Allen White was singing the praises of this one: http://collingsforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/4691059572/m/6211025715 |

Steve, if you're really interested, it's a really good one. Made for last year's NAAM show, what's really remarkable is how long it's remained in the store--admittedly, Pat doesn't sell a lot of mandolins, but noone's picked it up and played it without thinking some version of "Wow!". Wonderful tone, volume and playability and a serious bang for the buck, IMHO.

Played a g-chop or two on it last week. It is nice. Tyson played an MT at Hill Country and it sounded good, also. Most MT's sound good to me.
The question is: Do you want a black-top? Larry |

Having played this at Pat's shop, it is a fine fine mandolin. Plus, QUincy's is a most wonderful shop. You can't go wrong with this one.
