I also own a MTO A shape with oval sound hole.
As I prefer the sound of 80/20 bronze, what brand of strings do you recommand ? I now use 11/40 gauge

Congratulations on the MTO. I love mine. I use Thomastik Infeld mediums on all 3 of my mandolins. They sound especially good on the oval. I know they are not for everyone and they are expensive if you don't like them. On the other hand for me they last about 8 months.

Let the raging begin, I use Elixir's on both my Mandos. Med gauge on both oval and F hole.

They last forever and sound great to me, though many won't like them.

D'Addario EXP 74s. Give 'em a whirl. I was skeptical of coated strings , but these really changed my mind.
