Go have a look. I have no idea who the seller is or what the story is on this mando, but there it is...

Ay yi yi. That's what I hope to get out of my MT someday if I ever decide to sell it. I guess I'm deluding myself in this market.

There have been a few that have had trouble selling for 1300 to 1400. Sorry.

Just remember....one or two panic sales does not a price base make.Beware of usuing e-bay as an acurate measure of all prices for all instruments. Can it be helpful to set a ballpark figure? Sometimes. There's a lot of hocus pocus lose your focus on there so beware.Of course ridiculously low prices will bring a quick sale....duh! Good quality instruments will hold their value in tough times. They are down a bit now and can go lower but never pass up a great one just because you think it'll go down another hundred or two.

Good points. Still, unless I were desperate for the money I wouldn't selling my MT or any other instrument in this market. Strikes me as a time to keep an eye out for the odd bargain (like that crazy good deal on the MF), but otherwise sit tight and wait for prices to climb a little. Six months from now I suspect there will be a lot of people acting on a lot pent up GAS/MAS.

CC, I was just posting this for people who might want to take a chance on it. We all do realize this was some kind of anomaly for sure. And A very well priced one at that.

Yes KK,thanks for the heads-up on that deal, muchas gracias.

I love it when folks (who have never sold anything on e-bay) say....yeah, I got me one of those Stradi-various fiddles and they're going for millions on e-bay. Or, the guy who has a Martin D-28 in splinters from the 70's and tries to tell me it's in great shape except for a few cracks and those D-28's are worth 50 grand! Saw one on e-bay for that. The mis-information (or purposeful deception)is incredible. Whenever somebody says...it's GOING FOR $$$ on e-bay,I always point them to completed auctions and say....that's what one WENT FOR on e-bay.And, that's not even a true guide on a lot of stuff. You have to do the research and read between the lines on every auction. These days it's like surfing and trying not to go down navigating e-bay or used instrument sales in general anywhere.I like our forum cause it keeps it real and there's a sense of community over shared passion/love for Collings instruments and music in general.

That is a steal on an MF. Used MT's are still mostly selling for about $1700, but I am sure there are sales outside of the norm. I had a good friend buy one in November and the cheapest he could negotiate at the time was $1650. I paid around that price for mine new, so I'm not complaining. Smile
