This is my first post here....I'm very excited...just bought a new MF Sunburst gloss top..ivoroid binding and one piece back....

I went to the store to buy the sexy looking Honey Amber they had...but after playing the suburst the decision was made for me.....the dealer said he thinks the 1 piece backs just have a little something extra....I told him I didn't buy into the difference in 1 vs 2 piece backs but he swears there's a difference....

I guess we agree to disagree.....however this particular mandolin did have a little something extra to me....they were all great in the shop....any one of them could have been a keeper....the feel and sound were just right for me on this one....I sure do like the honey amber looks though....maybe when I'm ready to upgrade to an MF5V deluxe.. Hey, I did the same thing when I got my MF from Herb. Played everything from plain Jane to an MF 5 Deluxe. The one I got had "the right sound". Don't ask me what it is, it just did.

Welcome to the mad house 1

BTW, this wouldn't be a Trey from Chattanooga would it ?

I dont know what it is about satin finish mandolins but they sound so alive. They sound so damn good. Ive had MTs that sounded as good as any mandolin Ive ever heard.
A good MF is a mighty fine mandolin.
My MF sounds better than most of the MF5s Ive played or owned.

Congrats on the Mandolin and welcome to the forum! Lots of crazies here but the difference between Most crazies and Our crazies, is that all ours have Collings instruments. That says something...! Kerry Krishna
