I've really searched. Found many sites, but very few with instrumental finger-style songs that are well written.

Looking for finger-style tab for a fairly wide range of music interests, including Celtic, Irish, mainstream folk style, variations on popular songs. Example of the last would be Orsinio's version of Both Sides Now - such a beautiful song. Love complicated lullaby type songs etc.

I know this is a long shot, but I thought I'd ask. Or for a good site where music is traded and or posted and the system works well.

thanks for any thoughts.

Stuart

Well if you have Windows then you can use PowerTabEditor and you can use this site which is the best out there IMO. Lots of well figured out tabs of tunes and some originals, even one of my originals and my version of Freight Train. As I have probably 60+ original fingerstyle tunes I have decided to put them together in a tab book or two sometime in the future.

I suggest you download all the tabs to your computer. You never now when the website might vanish.

Rick, is there any way to download all the tabs at once or do you do it one at a time?

At the top of each section, for example Various A-D http://www.acousticpower.com/variousA-D.html is a download all link.

Thanks Rick!

Looks like I owe you one.

I assume you play with fingers or switch between fingers and pick? Trying to remember.

I got so lost looking at the music the other day and thought I had posted a response.

So here's a belated one.

I'm going to have fun perusing that site. 1 winning song means allot to me. With luck I'll find a few interesting ones on that site.

thanks a bunch,

Stuart

Hey guys,
I've been looking lately for tabs, and this site looks great. One problem though -- the .zip files are no longer there. I click on the link for them (which are still there) and the site comes back with File Not Found.
Do you know how I can get the .zip files? Are any of you able to post/send them?
Thanks!
Rob

I just tried to download the A-D tabs (and all the rest too) and it said that:

"The requested URL was not found on this server.

Please check the URL or contact the Webmaster."

Any idea what is up, or maybe it's just busy because all of you guys are downloading it right now!!! Smile

Two Collings, two Huss & Daltons, a Bourgeois, an H&F, and a bunch of Martins.

I got the same message, and I didn't see any Contact Us link anywhere to ask about the problem...

I think that the Mark Hanson / Accent On Music site is really good for fingerstyle tab/music. I think it is simply www.accentonmusic.com. I have a number of books put out by Mark, and they are among the very best. They lay outs are very clean, easy to read, and the arrangements tend to be good to great! He's got free tab on the website, and they are pdf files. And, if you are into splurging, go for some of the books. All of it is high quality, and I have many of them and have learned at least one or two tunes if not several from each. Here are some particular suggestions which I play and really enjoy:

1. Masters of Hawaiian Slack Key -- some great arrangements for Open G, if you like that tuning -- really fun.
2. Hymns & Spirituals for Fingerstyle Guitar -- some tunes in a celtic style in DADGAD plus a bunch in standard and drop d.
3. Fingerstyle Christmas Guitar - all pieces are good, and it starts from some playing easier stuff to some more advanced arrangements.
4. Music of Leo Kottke - there is an arrangement of Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring by Bach in Open G and is a very close (if not spot on) arrangement of Kottke's rendition of this Bach piece -- super good and relatively easy to play.

I have no affiliation with this author, but I think this material is among the very best that I've found. Best of luck!
