Well, I just have to share it with somebody. I got my chop today!! I've been picking on this mandolin for about 3 months now. I basically play about an hour every workday during lunch. I started out picking melodies from Dix Bruce's picking tunes book. Loads of fun. Got the Fretboard Roadmaps for mandolin book a couple weeks ago and started working on chords. I actually played along with a song in it today with G and C form closed bluegrass chop chords. I had to slow the song down a bit to keep up, but I got it! I feel like a real mandolin player now. Can a Collings F be too far in my future?

Congrats! All you need now is a D chord and you can play all the songs I know.

The D chord is the C form I mentioned moved up two frets. The song I was playing was G-C-D.
