I'm no expert on the subject but Happy Traum gave these picks a plug in one of his acoustic blues videos (he used Dunlops previously) and that was good enough for me so I ordered them and they are pretty comfortable.

Don't know if anyone else has experience, but the only fingerpicks I've been able to find that didn't seem painful to use are the John Pearse fingerpicks. Don't know where they might be available. I have several that I've been hoarding for years. I know that the acripicks are pretty popular with banjo pickers I know.

I've been using ProPik Fingertone picks for about 4 months now, gotten almost to the point that I can't live without them. I've tried lots of the others without success.

One thing I do that I've never seen before, I use picks on my middle and ring fingers only, I have an acrylic nail on my index finger. I use this both for straight up fingerstyle and find it works great with hybrid picking, using both a flatpick and fingers at the same time.
