He's known as a supplier of red spruce for other guitar companies. I played one of his dreds last night and quite frankly was blown away. One of the loudest dreds I've ever heard with a great balanced tone and playability. Anyone else heard of these?

I have not Jaco, but there are hidden gems out there for certain.
Though sometimes beging able to resell the guitar factors into my thinking. Hate to say it. Stuart _________________________ Collings OOO-3C (2006) Kim Walker L-00 (Nick Lucas) |

Stuart, the reselling thing weighs heavily. There are so many great builders out there who are probably unknown, as well as good musicians who don't stand a chance. I'm getting up to an age where I'm going for my gut reaction. I sold an Olson to finance a Franklin and don't regret it for a second. A prewar Martin would be my first choice but we're talking serious $$$ for a guitar that may have "issues". Neck resets, replaced bridges, bridgeplates, tuners, tops, cracks, etc.
Keeps life interesting though. |

yes, I agree. I would also like a prewar martin, but since 00's seem a little pricy I may go for a vintage new. After the franklin, but beginning to save.
I bought the walker because I loved the tone and felt, to be quite honest, the downside risk was lower. His guitars sell. They are expensive, but they sell. Anyway, it appears I like it a little too much to get rid of it so its a moot point. I will undoubtedly mark it up and pay a price, but I'll get some great years out of it. And I look forward to the Franklin as number three. Olson's are not my sound. But I know very many people enjoy them. Stuart This message has been edited.
