Yes indeed, it is a very special piece of Mahogany, it is Julian's Golden Grain of which he does not have alot of and charges a bit more for it than his regular Mahogany.
Julius is a great down to earth person, who likes to listen and share good stories and laughs alot. He say's he worked a long time on trying to get the right amount of bass out of his OM guitars and feels he finally has it nailed. He refuses to make a deep body version, saying that it goes against the original idea of a true OM.
He is currently moving into a new location and it will be months before he is fully set up especially since he works alone.
Julius is very consientious about his reputation as a Luthier and strives for perfection, he really does not realize how good he is or how much we love his work. He does not realize he is among the elite Luthiers of our time. It humbles him to hear these words and it humbles me to know him and have a casual relationship with him even if it is over the phone or through e-mails.
I am a poor man compared to many others, my income has never exceeded more than 30,000 a year and I have not had an income in the last Five years do to psychological and emotional disability.
my wife takes care of me and we live in a second floor apartment. I am currently in the process of cashing in my 401K $7,500 and sell a few things to purchase my dream guitar which I believe to be a Julian Borges OM.

That's some good Borges insight right there! Thanks for that info, Papi.

That kind of humble perfectionism is the making for a truly long-term player in the highest of high end guitar making.

I truly hope you're a Borges owner one day, but don't make too many sacrifices in order to make it happen, not unless you're entirely sure it's what you want. Cashing in a 401k for a guitar... I'm a guitar lover to every extreme, but I'd have to advise caution there.

I'll second Elambo's thoughts there, Papi.

There are some very special guitars around (and I count myself very fortunate to own a few of them), but in the scheme of things ... y'know, you can play the same songs on an (insert cheaper builder here).

Thank's guy's, I know it may seem somewhat extreme, but as you can see the amount isn't much anyway. So I figure cash in now and enjoy the rest of my years playing one of the finest guitars on this planet and I can pass it down to my son. I know I am still short of the full amount, but I have faith.
I've never needed alot of money to get by and I have always been in love with great quality guitars, I guess this would be my holy grail of guitars.

Julius and I have something were working on, hopefully it will work out. OM Adi/Braz 40 style.
