Jeff, when did you get that SJ Rock ?
I saw one that was just about finished when I visited Randall the end of April, and it sure sounds a lot like what you just described.

If so, it sure was a beauty.

My little single 0 impressed me so much I just had to get a full sized RB. And like Jeff says, they are just a blast to play. I find myself just geeting lost on the single 'ought" all the time. And it has never failed to both impress and amaze people with the sound and tone out of such a small box.

The new Slope D looks and sounds like it will be just a bigger version of the same thing, fun.

Rick:

I got the guitar in May, so it must be my guitar that you saw. I am bad about getting pictures up, but the guitar is great in all ways. It is very different from any other guitar that I own. I am used to the Martin formula (longer scale length, bracing, neck). The guitar feels much more like an old Gibson. The scale length makes it very easy to play. The sound is very, very punchy, yet also very clear. My Rockbridge has me thinking, should I unload some of my other guitars and grab another before the prices rise and the wait gets longer?

The combination of elements in the Rockbridge is great. As I sit here in my office, I do have a '93 D2H by my desk. I am not thinking of letting it go. But it is a different animal from the Rockbridge-not as punchy but more sustain. Both are good, just different.

I'll bet that is the one I saw and played at Randall's house in April then. It was NICE. But not ready to ship when I saw it. Still had the "break in" strings on it.

I know that once I got the single 0 I knew I would have to get a full sized RB. The Slope D is like you said, nothing like my other guitars. I can imagine that this is what the really good ole Gibbys sounded like. Never played any so I have no experience. But its a RALLY nice addition here.

I like those dark 1934 style sunbursts. Dan Miller of Flatpicking Guitar magazine has great things to say about these guitars. Hmmm... the wheels are turning.
