This weekend i was lucky enough to have been loaned a Collings OM2 for a friend to check out,as stated in an earlier post i was smitten and had decided that if said mate didn't want it i would snap it up.

So its monday morning and i phone the luthier(Chris Melville) who had loaned it me to tell him my friend wasn't interested but i may be ,"will see you in an hour".

when i arrived i told Chris how much fun it was he said"heres an 000 that is my demo model have a go"................one strum of a chord and I was gobsmacked. This thing is HUGE.So thats it! decision made,I am going to commision my first custom build single luthier guitar.Check out his websight, the one i played was #000155.

Congratulations on the Melville build. Talking with Tony McManus (http://www.tonymcmanus.com) recently about John Slobod and his amazing guitars (http://www.circaguitars.com), he mentioned that his real pride and joys are his Melvilles. I think Tony considers his OOO Melvilles as good or better soundng than anything being built today.
