waiting for the UPS (the worst comp)to get me my new Bourgeois Custom JOM. Cannot wait to see an hear what is sounds like. Adi/Maho Custom burst Koa binding. Will post pics asap
Here it is. AMAZING perfect guitar. The construction is flawless to say the least. Feels great to play and every note is crystal clear. WOW I am very lucky. He nailed the burst too!!!
Yeah dana picked all the wood for this one and sprayed the burst. He really did a great job just what I wanted. I looks way better in person as well. The Koa binding is amazing up close really nice. I am very happy with it and its only 3 days old out of the shop in a year I am sure it will open up. I hear Adi takes a min. to bloom. Thanks for the comments.
Arguably better (granted, I am partial to darker sunbursts). That is one beautiful guitar. The koa binding really compliments the burst very well. How does she sound (compared to a comparable Collings or Martin)?
dana picks out all the woods for each guitar- very hands on. (i just picked up my new short scale slope d from the shop in lewiston last friday). he also sprays all the bursts. he does a darker burst also.
i'd have to say that with the new hide glue option the slope d i got is as good as any collings as i have played if not better. lots of punch right out of the box. and for the $$$ you get more guitar right now. not sure as they get more and more popular if that will be the case.
got to see a ricky skaggs brazilian model (the body was done- beeee-you-tee-ful) and went shopping for some brazilian for a Vintage D while I was there. ricky's archtop is there for a bit of repair too.

Yeah I asked for a inbetween burst. Not too dark not too redish. It really looks totally different in different lighting. The guitar is literally two days out of the shop. The balance is great. It has 13s on it so that takes a bit of getting used to but the neck and everything is top notch. I am wondering how long it will take to open up with the adi top. Any ideas on getting it to open up faster other than playing the heck out of it? I would say not as loud as a Collings but really nice balance string to string. I was also coming from a Collings om 2he which is a way different guitar. HOg/adi I really dig. Very clear sounding no mushy notes. Thanks yall
Cartermac, congratulations are defnitely in order! What a beaut. And I must say, Dana's prices are very reasonable given what you get. Buffalo Brothers has a D-150 (Braz/Adi) going for $6566, and that's about a grand less than a similarly wood comboed Collings.
