I couldn't pick one favorite between the three of these. At home, or anywhere.

I find myself in a similar position.
I stay in my chateau on the Riviera for much of the winter, my slope-side ski chalet in Vail for the rest of it, and much of the rest of my time is spent in my Park Avenue penthouse.
But choose among them? I couldn't!

Good one!

I guess you took it as an elitist comment. Sorry, I didn't expect that anyone would be offended by my preferences. It doesn't strike me as braggadocios to talk about these brands on this forum. Not everyone will agree.

Not that I took it that way, more like that an uninfected impartial observer could take it that way. It just struck me as humorous.

Me, I'm jealous, and wish I had your three here.
together with my Franklin. It's just that I have a wife that makes that an impossibility.

We all have our crosses to bear..

Frank, we never got spring here in Chicago, we just went straight into mid summer. 87 degree high here today.

Same here in southern England - it was 70 degrees yesterday, and it looks like it'll be the same today/tomorrow.
March is usually about frosts and some snow - not this year ! And dry river beds with a drought forecasted ! Worrying for a grower like me.

Getting back to the thread - I have a friend who plays my old Martin D35 asnd plays it well. I recently arranged to have it worked on by my preferred luthier to correct lots of problems caused by usage and neglect.

I suggested to hium that he should consider buying another, from another pal of mione anxious to upgrade from Martins. He looked at me askance and remarked - "Why would I want two guitars?" - he was serious.

I have noticed a radical change in the quality of guitars seen played by non pros in folk clubs etc., but I am still only aware of one other Collings owner in my circles. I am concisdsred rather eccentric in having 4 Collings and a few other good instruments.

Whilst I know that guitars, cars and many other things are considerably cheaper in the USA than in the UK & EU - does it occur to any here that we on this forum are particularly priveliged ?

It's a tough decision...for playability, bluegrass volume & perfect set-up My D1AVvarnish....for pure tone & mojo...my '37 shadetop 00-18H....for sitting at home...the '37 every time...

If your talking about literally sitting at home, playing solo, I'm tempted to say my McAlister OM-28 Vintage Series. But it's hard not to pick a Dread (pardon the pun), so hard not to say the B&H D-28 Phoenix.

The answer to the question is: Don't limit yourself to one if you can swing more than one Wink

"Sit at home." What is the criteria for that? I suspect that it's different for everyone. For me, it's a comfortable guitar that can cover many different styles.
