| A Martin Dealer frind in SoCal regularly sells new D-45 authentics to the doctor-lawyer crowd and successful entertainment folks. Roy Rogers didn't by his OM-45 Deluxe new. It was undoubtedly purchased new by someone from the professional or business class. 'Twas ever thus. |

Steve, I don't think anyone on this thread is begrudging anyone who can afford to purchase an expensive guitar. that really isn’t what this is about, though I am not quite sure what it’s about, it was intended to be about Borges guitars but ended up being about fish jokes. My one comment that “Japan is still living the illusion” is regarding their stagnant economy, several decades running, though as you point out it doesn’t affect certain segments of society. I did travel to Japan several times in the 80s, and I was young then and everything seemed really REALLY expensive, like a cup of coffee was over ten dollars which seemed like a lot for coffee, but it was the best coffee I ever had. |

| My girlfriend came here from Osaka in 1982. She and her ex-pat friends often talk about how unreal the "bubble economy" was in Japan, especially inflated real estate valuations. The U.S. could and should have learned a lot of lessons from Japan's huge mistakes, but chose to ignore these lessons. See more complete discussions at www.inflammatorypoliticalspeech.com (hee hee) |

| The Japanese love American culture. As so much of their past was destroyed during WW II they tend to buy back certain things that we took for granted. Ever wonder what happened to all the Japanese made transistor radios? (these are of real interest to the Japanese and they will pay big bucks for them; especially the fancier ones). That said, Blue G has always has very nice high end stuff.
It's the end of the world as we know it

"A sharp drop in pace of production in the United States because it made it difficult to obtain Julius and baud jazz guitar. The guitar is held in August 2005 "Hills Bargh guitar show" because of a production was. The top has a clean grain of the FULLBACK Brandon Adirondack spruce, and the figure out of rare "Pax-peri Kirti mahogany" using a special model. Some of the small scratches, and most have no sense of beauty products use! ! The 30 's Martin OM - 18 the sound to create a sound-Based on the quality of the finished is indeed! ! nut 44.5 mm width. Lucia, vintage Martin system-assistance you. The core and the glamour and the thick sound reverberation, the great sound sexy. Most models now made mahogany, ordering can price is coming up a lot of valuable used. Early! !"

"The best USED item 2010 make of superlative model OM-45DELUXE [hakaranda] of [jiyuriasu] [bojiyasu] came out!! Presently because number of productions decreases sharply, also order of this model has become several year waiting. It is the brand-new similar condition which almost does not have the use impression. As for the top the element clear forcing material where with creamy [adeirondatsukusupurusu], the eye is plugged yellow finely is used. The shining where the blueness is strong [abaron] is decorated finely, glowing in the yellow top, is very an atmosphere. The trim of the side back has reproduced pre-world war 2 Martin's atmosphere faithfully e.g., it is finished with [abaron] whose color is white. [puremiamuhakaranda] of the superlative where the side back the straight grain the eye is plugged compactly is used. It is the splendid work where in the head the torch in ray, with the completion whose such as [sunouhureikuinrei] also detail is beautiful and [aiboroidobaindeigu], it had the special kind of atmosphere which is felt from the [vuinteji] item in the finger board. Nut width 44.5mm. Easy V Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers, Europe where with the neck of the diluting where thickness does not change, there is a roundness to high position. This is the neck of true [vuinteji] OM. Being profound, it is sound of thick force. It is tenacious from bass to the treble, being the harmonic overtone rich, there is no stress completely and reacts to straight. Even at the time of strong touch there is also a width of the range which feels room, it is the masterpiece which is approached to the original OM-45DX of [vuinteji]. We have produced this model in for only Japan, to presently only 7 are made. 1 you recommend!! Please try by all means!!"
OK, who's going to start the "beauty products for your special guitar" business? |

| There are so many happy accidents in that translation.
One of my favorites was:
"Easy V Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers, Europe where with the neck of the diluting where thickness does not change, there is a roundness to high position."
and 2nd place goes to:
"Being profound, it is sound of thick force. It is tenacious from bass to the treble, being the harmonic overtone rich, there is no stress completely and reacts to straight."
Funny thing is, though the text is essentially gibberish, it's rather easy to understand their points. |

| The OM-45 is now on hold (not by me). I didn't figure it would last long. Dead quartered brw from arguably the best, if not THE BEST OM guitar maker on the planet. I think its a no brainer if you want the best of the best in an OM. |

The finest OM's I have heard or played have been made By Ralph Bown, but I have yet to play a Borges. Phil |

Phil, I tried to check out his website, but it's under construction. |
