Blue-G has two - not exactly a lode of Borges.

true that, just trying to get a topic rolling, though I suspect Blue G has more Borges guitars than any other guitar store on the planet.

True, I suspect they have twice as many as the others.

Julius is a very nice person, but I know that he can seem distant even from other Luthiers. He works alone since last I spoke with him, and he really takes his time with each individual guitar. Other Luthiers call him the OM guy, or a madman...in a good way.

I spoke with him about a month ago and his base OM mahogany is at approx.$9,200 with delivery time up to two years. I like Julius alot, to me a Borges OM-42 Adi/Braz along with my Merrill C-28 would be my guitar dream team, but his prices and delivery time keep moving up.

Papi - can you clarify the "negative" things which have happened? As your post reads currently, it seems a bit like Julius might have had something to do with those issues, which, I believe, would be a misread.

Also, when you say "trust issues" I believe you're referring to his preference to do everything himself, is that correct? I know him well and he's not a paranoid guy with general trust issues.

Let me say again that Julius is a very nice person and I have nothing but love for the man, and yes, Julius prefers to work alone.

here is the link to their inventory page, all guitars including two Borges guitars. http://www.blue-g.com/stk/all_list.html

and of course I am fluent in Japanese, (not), but I ran the description of these guitars, some of them, through Google's magic translator tool, and it is quite amusing to read the descriptions as they are translated into English. and of course if you want to know the price in dollars, there are tools for that too.

(Japanese-to-English via Babel and monetary conversions based on today's rates)

The '05 OM-18 is approx $7,750

"A sharp drop in pace of production in the United States because it made it difficult to obtain Julius and baud jazz guitar. The guitar is held in August 2005 "Hills Bargh guitar show" because of a production was. The top has a clean grain of the FULLBACK Brandon Adirondack spruce, and the figure out of rare "Pax-peri Kirti mahogany" using a special model. Some of the small scratches, and most have no sense of beauty products use! ! The 30 's Martin OM - 18 the sound to create a sound-Based on the quality of the finished is indeed! ! nut 44.5 mm width. Lucia, vintage Martin system-assistance you. The core and the glamour and the thick sound reverberation, the great sound sexy. Most models now made mahogany, ordering can price is coming up a lot of valuable used. Early! !"

The '10 OM-45 is approx $21,775

"The best USED item 2010 make of superlative model OM-45DELUXE [hakaranda] of [jiyuriasu] [bojiyasu] came out!! Presently because number of productions decreases sharply, also order of this model has become several year waiting. It is the brand-new similar condition which almost does not have the use impression. As for the top the element clear forcing material where with creamy [adeirondatsukusupurusu], the eye is plugged yellow finely is used. The shining where the blueness is strong [abaron] is decorated finely, glowing in the yellow top, is very an atmosphere. The trim of the side back has reproduced pre-world war 2 Martin's atmosphere faithfully e.g., it is finished with [abaron] whose color is white. [puremiamuhakaranda] of the superlative where the side back the straight grain the eye is plugged compactly is used. It is the splendid work where in the head the torch in ray, with the completion whose such as [sunouhureikuinrei] also detail is beautiful and [aiboroidobaindeigu], it had the special kind of atmosphere which is felt from the [vuinteji] item in the finger board. Nut width 44.5mm. Easy V Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers, Europe where with the neck of the diluting where thickness does not change, there is a roundness to high position. This is the neck of true [vuinteji] OM. Being profound, it is sound of thick force. It is tenacious from bass to the treble, being the harmonic overtone rich, there is no stress completely and reacts to straight. Even at the time of strong touch there is also a width of the range which feels room, it is the masterpiece which is approached to the original OM-45DX of [vuinteji]. We have produced this model in for only Japan, to presently only 7 are made. 1 you recommend!! Please try by all means!!"

I don't think his output is more than 10 guitars a year. I don't believe finances are an issue for him so he takes his time and builds at his own pace.

Blue g always has nice stuff, but I'm wondering how all the CITES restrictions are going to affect their ability to have instruments shipped from the US. Time will tell.

It's the end of the world as we know it
