i'm looking for a small guitar, good for finger style, rich in tone... more of a classical sound than a blues sound. i'm also looking for a different sound than a collings. cotten has a goodall parlor in koa and cedar that looks pretty sweet. any thoughts or experiences? thanks.

yep. it's on my short list. along with the goodie parlor and something akin to a collings 0-1A or 0-2A. i'm leaning toward a rosewood model but koa would also work for me.
i'm not sure about the goodall sound. some people on this forum get tired of the goodall tone (too much overtone?) and sell them. but the rich sound might work well in a really small guitar.

Peter,

I have a Madagascar/European Goodall CJ that is unbelievably nice / rich sounding. It's probably not what you'd want in a bluegrass mix but since I've never played a G-run in my life it is great for me (I have a few Collings as well).

I personally think the koa/cedar wood combo in a Goodall parlor would be lights-out. You should drop Kim a note and see what she says about it. She'll shoot straight.

There's a Goodall Parlor that just came in at our local shop, Glades Guitars. Compared to my Thompson T2 (00), the Goodall has a darker, warmer voice and of course that exquisite Goodall construction and design.
