I heard Doyle Dykes last week in Concert. What an unbelievable guitarist. He played an array of Taylor guitars and made them all sound like heaven. If you ever get a chance to hear him in person you will never forget the experience. What an inspiration.
I attended a Doyle Dykes concert a few years ago here in Hong Kong. What a show! It was a Taylor workshop and he played more than 10 Taylors there. The most impressive act of the night was he played a series of Acoustic Blues tunes on a Baby Taylor! What a guitarist and I think he probably has the best right hand picking techniques.
I'll add to the mix regarding Doyle Dykes. I saw him at a Guitar Center in the Twin Cities a few years back. Monster guitar player -- he's among the very best out there. He's definitely got the wow factor going strong.

Speaking of Doyle, I've almost totally changed my playing/guitar needs since I started performing in a duo in the last year...meaning I've purchased a Collings CJSB, and am now selling a beautiful orange Taylor DDSM (Doyle's signature model)short scale. He signed it (back of the headstock, very tasteful, at one of his clinics.) I know that should probably go in the FS or trade board, and I'll put it there later. It's the summer 2004 NAMM model, and has the Expression System in it, not the Baggs. And since he's mentioned, I thought I'd throw it out there now. Pics available if you're interested. I'm in Alexandria, VA. michael@roundhousemusic.com.
