Looks like Dream Guitars got a Franklin Prarie State in recently. According to their site it sold before they could list it. Anyone one here the guilty party? Nice looking Koa.

I'll bet you can't. What was the total elapsed time, from placing order to pickup?

Waiting for that first OM report Dr. Bill. Know you've got to be excited after the wait's finally over.

Well, it will be another two weeks. I got there today and and neither of us was content with the setup; Nick didn't realize how hard I flatpick and there was some string buzz. Neither one of us can mess with it this week, so it will likely be late next week or so when I go back. Assessment: Tone... simply spectacular, balanced, and resonates forever. Very loud even when fingerpicked with bare fingers. Appearance: Spectacular. Wait until you see the Brazilian in this one; it is quartersawn, but with incredible patterns in both the back ans sides. Body, fingerboard, and peghead are bound in maple. Lovely European spruce top. Nick says no picture until he's got it the way he wants it. He is a real craftsman.

That sound great Bill. I want you in my corner when he is building my guitar. Re visually stunning wood selection. I do want to play both a mahog and a braz if i can in advance. But i think I have about another 10-11 mths, so I have to wait a bit. Glad it is all working out. I have an L00 coming from elsewhere next week though, so I'll be having loads of fun too. Stuart

What is the base charge for a Franklin OM?

I honestly don't know. I've never seen anything I would call a base model, IR/Sitka or hog/sitka. The least expensive recent guitar was well over 6K, and I cannot recall the woods. Bill

Well, it is home, and I honestly think it is the best guitar I've ever played. Incredible sustain, amnd when there is a loud noise in the room it just starts ringing. The music really is in the wood on this one. Pictures this week or next.

Where can I find a website or information on Franklin guitars? This is the first I've heard of them. -sk

Congrats on the Franklin Dr. Bill. Mine's not quite a year old and continues to get better with time. A vintage collector friend couldn't believe the Brazillian on it. He said there isn't wood like that around anymore and this guy has a prewar Martin collection that is jawdropping. Looking forward to the pics.
