Well, I went to look at a Collins and ended up with a Goodall TDM. Sweet guitar. Takes nothing away from the Collins, but this one really talked to me and take me home.
Came with a really nice Ameritage case. I'm not familar with better cases [only the black, cheaper ones that come with less expensive guitars] so maybe some can help me. The case has a humidor in it with a container of stuff that you soak in water then place in the humidor. Does anyone know where I can purchase a 2nd container?
The containers have a very nice perfume that I wold like to put in my other case.
By the way, any comments on Ameritage cases? How do they stack up against others?
As for me, I will; be pretty busy the next few weeks working on the new baby.
Best wishes.

My Circa dreadnaught came in one of these cases. Kind of bulky, but very protective -- I like it.

The humidifier is some kind of dense clay. They are made by Herco and can be ordered from Ameritage, or other places for less money. I'm not sure these humidifiers do much. The sponge/soapdish contraption works better.

This case also came with a digital humidistat. I find that mine gives a general idea of whether humidity is up or down, but when compared with readings from a pricey industrial meter, it wasn't too accurate.

Circa Dread? Congrats. What did you get? One of my current favorites. It would be great to hear about it in a different thread.

bsny, I too would love to hear about your Goodall. Hope you have enjoyed it.
Thanks for the info on the humidor. I too think there are better ways to humidify my guitar and do so.
Best wishes

I've had it just a couple of months. This is a Circa (John Slobod)D28 with Madagascar and Red Spruce. To me, it sounds like a 40s D28. Very balanced. Fit and finish beyond Collings. I just love it, but I feel so unworthy!
