Oh, they do, they do. Steve Miklas (AMW) and Joe Caruso (TME) have a custom run (not available elsewhere) of no-bling OM-18 clones and D-18 clones (D1?) with 1-3/4" nut, sitka top and hog back and sides. $575 takes them home. I have the OM coming on Friday and I'll report back. I've owned (and sold) three other Blueridges including the 280 because of the narrow nut and inconsistency with fit, finish and tone. Evidently Saga (Blueridge, etc,.) is making a run at becoming a much more premium manufacturer and has pared down its dealer harem significantly. They are even making a Schoenberg soloist clone that Eric Schoenberg himself sells and thinks well of. Adirondack tops are slowly seeping in as well. AMW has one right now (1-11/16 albeit).

Not Brazilian...but I received one of the new Custom Vintage Blueridges today. It's a BR-143 with no top tint, 1-3/4" nut, sitka top, hog back, sides and neck, maple bridge plate...basically an OM-18. Only available from 2 US dealers to my knowledge. Uh, ohhhh. I think the fit, finish, tone and playability are significantly ahead of the Blueridges of just a couple years ago and, well, price aside ($575),...I think it will give Martin a run for the money. It's no OM-1, but pretty dry (as hoped for), bass not too muddy, excellent volume and sustain. This is, I hate to admit it really, a pretty nice guitar. Excellent choice for a knock around, cheap (but not cheap-sounding) Guitar.

Interesting. I found some Blueridges in a beaten up guitar store in west Toronto and was surprised at the tone for the price. Didn't give it too much thought when I found out you couldn't get the wider neck width.

I did look around the internet and noticed a far higher than average number that had cracked at the base. They may be working on quality as indicated. But at the price they are selling it, I'm not sure it matters. You can certainly drag it to the camp ground without too many worries.

Good to hear thy have a wider neck width available.

One day you'll be able to get pretty amazing guitars for a much lower price.

Stuart
