Although this might be housed more accurately in the sound clips section, I thought I'd post it here since most of the Borges-related discussion has occurred here.

I recorded this tune tonight. It's an arrangement I've been working on for a couple of weeks. The recording is in stereo but there's no processing, EQ, or reverb.

It's gonna take a bit of time getting used to the 2 3/8" string spacing but I think the journey is liable to be worth it.

Really beautiful Mike. Momentarily regretting selling my Borges a couple years back; but then clarity reminding me talent does not come attached to the guitar. After 17 hours at the office today, your arrangement was a delightful way to finish the day. Thanks.

Very nice Mike. I had e mailed Kim about that Borges and didn't get a reply. Guess the mail got lost in all the others she gets. Probably for the best as right now it would have been out of reach without selling something.

But someday I will find a Borges and a way to get it.

Rick, you know how diligent Kim is about responding to email so I guess your message must've gotten spammed or something. Strange. And I'm having to part with a couple to manage this one. So I hear ya ...

Homer, thanks for the nice words. If it makes you feel any better, I had to stop and restart probably 25-30 times before I managed to get through it without screwing up. Smile

Yea Mike, I figured something like that happened with the mail to Kim, I know they must get a ton every day. I mailed from work, so it probably saw the City/State thing and knew it was junk mail. LOL Not a problem any more, as I don't work any more.

The "getting rid of" part is getting harder for me. I think I have too many, too nice ones now. But I will have to get there some day.

BTW, no matter how many takes it's still a real nice recording.

I'm kind of in the same boat. The two that are leaving are the only two I view as even remotely expendable. And it may well be the case that only one of them goes. I still have too many but I would have a really hard time parting with any of the ones that remain. I guess there are worse problems to have ...

Really nice Mike... An expressive guitar for a player with some expressive chops.

Cheers!

Mike, love your playing but I found it hard to tell any difference in sound quality, i.e., it could have been any guitar, Martin,Taylor, Yamaha, or Collings. The problem with internet samples... just can't tell what the guitar sounds like but if it allows you to play your best and get the best tone possible, then that's what really matters.

Kenny,

Agreed. Without a direct A/B audio comparison, it's difficult to make any grandiose statements about tone. I just thought people might be interested in a clip given the frequent discussions (and infrequent availability) of Borges guitars.

That being said, if you can find a Yamaha that mics like that, please let me know. Smile

I'll work on doing a brief comparison between the Borges, the Blazer, maybe a couple of my other guitars and my 12 year old's Martin 000-M. That might actually be pretty interesting. Might be able to get it done tonight. If I do, I'll post it in the appropriate section and put a pointer to that from here.

Good thought.

Thanks

Mike
